Generator Rex is an American animated TV series developed by Man of
Action animation Studios for Cartoon Network. The series is already in
its third season, with more episodes and seasons expected along the way.
It was originally inspired by a comic book series called "M. Rex,"
published by Image Comics in 1999.
The Story Behind Generator Rex
The cartoon series follows the story of a young amnesiac teenage hero named Rex Salazar, who fights for an organization called Providence. The series focuses on Rex and his mission is to stop the E.V.O (Exponentially Variegated Organism) war, and cure the E.V.O.s of their nanite induced mutations.
Aside from stopping the Nanite War, Rex is also driven by a deep desire to unlock his past, and understand his role in the events leading up to the E.V.O. war. The mystery of the series is further compounded by the fact that Rex is the only E.V.O. who can control his own Nanites and at the same time deactivate the nanites found in other E.V.O.s, thus effectively curing them of their mutations.
As a member of Providence, with the help of Agent Six, Rex's adventures mainly focuses in fighting other E.V.O.s. His powers over his nanites allow him to take on new forms and have use powers that defy the laws of physics.

Rex's arch Nemesis is a scientist named Van Kleiss, who believes that
nanite mutation is a good thing and should not be prevented. Aside from
being the main antagonist of the series, Van Kleiss is also connected to
Rex's mysterious past as well as the original events that caused the
E.V.O. war. Rex's many adventures also involve fighting off mutants,
aliens and other organizations with vested interests in the E.V.O. war.
Given the setting of the story as well as the fact that it has gone on for three seasons, both the producers and the fans of the series expect great things from Generator Rex in the coming seasons.

Various Generator Rex games can be found on Cartoon Network's website. Most of these are flash games, and are designed to promote the series to potential viewers. Aside from the Flash games found on Cartoon Network's website, a video game known as Generator Rex: Age of Providence was also created for various gaming consoles last November 1, 2011. The story of the game involves Van Kleiss looking for information that will allow him to build a powerful type of nanite, and of course, Rex is there to stop him.
As the series progresses and becomes more popular, additional console games are expected to be developed based on the series. At the moment, the appeal and demand for Generator Rex games is still unknown. However, like most cartoon action series, Generator Rex has a lot of great potential to become an expanded video game franchise.
